About Us
The Community Artist League is a DABICO Initiative, which “Develops Artists and Builds Inner Community Opportunities” through three arts projects in three different mediums:
- Music (The Community Artist League)
- Web and Social Media (Podcast show)
- TV Shows and Movies (St. Gabriel – i71 Movies)
The DABICO Initiative is an arts economic-and-vocational-development initiative to help sustain arts in our schools and communities while providing additional forms of content and entertainment.
Accomplishments
DABICO, through its initiatives and outreach efforts, has a track record of the following accomplishments over the past eight years:
- Formed and helped develop over 20 ensemble groups;
- Provided performance opportunities for over 30 different groups;
- Provided Music Instrument Appreciation classes for nine different schools, churches, public institutions and community organizations;
- Held a significant number and variety of program fundraisers;
- Helped youth perform and compete in several community events such as the Mayor’s Talent Show and Urban Nights;
- Bought over 70 instruments and various accessories for youths to utilize within the programs;
- Provided music and history educational field trips; and
- Provided or assisted in after- and in-school programs with the Dayton Public Schools, the Catholic Collaboration Schools, the Dayton Public Library, the Police Athletic League, and the Salvation Army (Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center).
